Shaquelle Evans, the sophomore receiver who left Notre Dame a couple of weeks ago, has told Bruin coaches he plans to transfer to UCLA, according to sources.

The 6-1, 205-pounder originally from Inglewood (Calif.) High, was the #1-ranked wide receiver in the west for 2009. Out of high school he was thought to have a great combination of size and excellent speed.

Evans commitment to UCLA was also confirmed by his high school coach at Inglewood, Khalid Ali.

In high school, he first verbally committed to USC, and then decided on Notre Dame.

As a true freshman last season at Notre Dame, he had 7 receptions for 61 yards in limiting action.

Reportedly, a desire to return to the west coast was his primary motivation for leaving Notre Dame.

It will be a matter of getting the paperwork completed that will determine when he starts practicing with the team.
