McClure Enjoys Time at Rose Bowl

Vista (Calif.) cornerback Stefan McClure (5-11, 173), was one of a host of UCLA's targets that made it to the Rose Bowl on Saturday night.

"It was fun and a good time," said McClure. "I got to spend some time with the team and see the coaches and see a bunch of things."

That came a week after an official visit to Washington, and McClure is planning to take another official visit, to Colorado, in early October, with his Vista teammate Alex Kelley.

"I'm going to Colorado on October 2nd when they play Georgia," said McClure.

McClure is working on setting up his other three official visits, just unsure when he'll be taking them.

"I want to take all five trips and I'm thinking about Oregon, Cal, UCLA or Miami since I just talked to Coach (Michael) Barrow this week," said McClure. "I may just take an unofficial visit to UCLA since it's close to home and I've already been there a couple of times."

Florida has also expressed recent interest in McClure, but he said unless they offer soon, he doesn't plan to take a visit there.

The Bruins and the Huskies are two schools that McClure spoke highly of, but he claimed no leader has taken shape.

"All the schools are pretty close," said McClure. "That's why I want to take all of my visits."

He said UCLA is recruiting him the hardest with the Huskies.

"I talk to Coach Hundley and Coach Jones the most and then with Coach Neuheisel a lot too," said McClure.

McClure has been selected to the U.S. Army All-American Game but said he would make a decision prior to that game being played.

"I'd like to decide at the end of December," said McClure.

Academically, McClure has a 3.2 GPA and scored a 1250 on the SAT, but plans to take it again in the fall.

So far this season, he has a couple of touchdowns offensively, seven pass breakups and an interception in Vista's 2-0 start.
