Bruins Still Watching Waller

Long Beach (Calif.) Poly linebacker Corey Waller is still interested in UCLA, despite not having an offer, and he talks about which schools he's hearing from, whom he's visiting and more...

Long Beach (Calif.) Poly linebacker Corey Waller hastily made arrangements for his first official visit this past weekend.

Boise State hadn't even offered Waller but offered him the opportunity to see the school, talk with the coaches, and be on campus for one of the most electric days in Boise State history.

"I took an official visit to Boise State, it was a last minute thing," said Waller. "Jamar Taylor was my host."

Then on Sunday, Waller got some good news from the Broncos' coaching staff.

"I went into a meeting with Coach Pete and they offered me as an outside linebacker," said Waller.

That was just one of the many highlights for Waller.

"The trip overall was nice," said Waller. "I had a cool time with some of the players and the coaching staff and the players were cool. I'm definitely liking Boise."

Waller said the Broncos are in his top three, along with Washington and Oregon State.

In addition, he's looking at three more schools in the Pac-10.

"Oregon, Cal and maybe UCLA could be offering," said Waller. "I want to make it to UCLA this weekend (for the Washington State game)."

Waller has been out for part of the season, with a shoulder injury, and may be out for one more game, before returning to the Jackrabbits defense.

Brandon is in his sixth year with, currently as the West Regional Manager. Prior to joining Scout, he spent three years as an o-line and tight ends coach in the high school ranks.
