JR Prospect Norris Malele

One of the top two way lineman on the west coast next year will be Carson's (Calif.) Norris Malele. Malele is the cousin of former teammate and future Cal Bear Matthew Malele and could be an even better college prospect...

Norris Malele, 6-3, 280, Carson (Calif.) High, will be a three-year starter on both sides of the ball for the Colts. He's a standout at both defensive end and offensive tackle, although we feel his best position could be defensive tackle. He has good size and strength, uses his hands well to get off the blocks and a nice burst off the ball.

As a junior, Malele earned League Lineman of the Year, All-Area and 1st team All-State Underclass honors. He could compete for national honors next year and has a lot of upside to him.

On the recruiting front, Malele is hearing from the Pac 10 plus Colorado and Teneessee.

"I like Cal, UCLA, Tennessee, Washington and Arizona State," Malele said. "Matthew being at Cal is a factor and they're supposed to offer me in May."

Academically, Malele is carrying a 2.6 GPA and he scored a 910 on the SAT. He'll attend the SoCal Nike Camp in April.
