Last year, the Lancers snapped the Jackrabbits eons-long Moore League unbeaten streak. This year, Lakewood comes in with the target on their back, and the Jackrabbits are hoping to wrest league control away. But Poly will have it's work cut out for it against a still-loaded Lancers team. Poly features Washington commit Kameron Jackson and UCLA recruit Corey Waller, but Waller is no sure thing to play, as he's been nursing a shoulder injury most of the season. Lakewood has more talent and has rarely been tested this year. The Lancers are strong in the trenches, paced by UCLA commit Torian White on the offensive line and Bruin recruit Todd Barr on the defensive line. Their back seven features a pair of Pac-10 commits in safety Rashad Wadood (Arizona State) and linebacker Rahim Cassell (Oregon). They also boast a pair of stellar junior receivers in Malik Gilmore and Darius Powe.
Valencia vs. Loyola
The Cubs snapped their three game losing streak, and quarterback Jerry Neuheisel is back for their final non-league test before they start Serra League play next week. The Cubs boast a top 2012 receiver in Kori Whitfield and Arizona commit Jared Baker in the backfield as well as a defensive back who's emerging in Tim Hightower.
Encino Crespi vs.
Woodland Hills Taft
Valley bragging rights are on the line in this City-Southern Section clash between two perennial powers. Taft features Arizona State-commit Michael Bercovici at quarterback, USC commit Antwaun Woods on the defensive line and Pac-10 recruit Michael Thomas at receiver. Crespi has UCLA recruit Devin Lucien at receiver and UCLA offer holder Jordan Simmons, a 2012 prospect on the offensive line.
San Jose Valley Christian vs. San Jose Mitty
In a game that UCLA coaches are expected to attend, they'll be there to watch who may be the best running back in California in the 2012 class in Valley Christian's Byron Marshall. They'll also get a chance to watch offensive lineman Justin Satele, who's interested in the Bruins and has a couple of WAC offers. Mitty is led by Cal commit Kyle Boehm.
Concord De La Salle at Pleasanton Amador Valley
UCLA is using their time in the Bay Area wisely and will be at Amador Valley to check out a couple of Spartans prospects, namely Scout 100 quarterback for 2012, Bart Houston, who camped at UCLA this summer and led the Spartans to the state title. They'll also see Oregon State-commit, Dylan Wynn at defensive end and elite junior safety Michael Barton.
Elk Grove vs. Sacramento Grant
In yet another game UCLA coaches are planning to be at, the Bruin coaches will get to see the top defensive tackle in the West in five-star Viliami Moala, who continues to list the Bruins in his top ten, as well as the West's top skill player for 2012, Shaquille Thompson, Grant's two-way star. Both went out with injuries a week ago, but both are expected to play tonight for the Pacers.
Mission Hills Alemany vs. Beverly Hills
The top defensive end in California, Greg Townsend for Beverly Hills, will go up against one of the best offensive linemen in Southern California, in Alemany's Akeem Gonzales, a player that UCLA is keeping a close eye on.
