Tai Getting Closer to a Decision

Henderson (Nev.) Liberty defensive end Sam Tai will take an unofficial trip to UCLA this weekend and after visiting Arkansas officially last weekend, could be close to a decision...

Henderson (Nev.) Liberty defensive end Sam Tai (6-4, 240) is still favoring two schools, Arkansas and UCLA, and the likelihood he chooses from the Razorbacks and Bruins is high.

Despite double-digit offers, and visits previously made to Colorado and Idaho, Tai said that UCLA and Arkansas will be who he boils it down to.

"I'm visiting UCLA this weekend," said Tai. "I'm going unofficially when they play Oregon State."

Tai visited Arkansas last weekend, officially, and he enjoyed his time at Arkansas.

"It was really good," said Tai. "I had two hosts, Braylon Mitchell and Dante Carr. I'd been there three times for camp but my first time this season."

Tai said that the Razorback fans were the highlight.

"What really stood out to me was their fan base and support," said Tai, who saw the Hogs rout Vanderbilt.

He also got to spend some time with the Arkansas coaches.

"I spent a lot of time with Coach (Bobby) Petrino and all the other coaches. I had the breakfast on Sunday morning with all of them," said Tai.

Tai's father played for Petrino when he was an assistant at Weber State, so he had a previous connection.

Now comes a trip to Southern California.

"I'm going to decide after my visit to UCLA this weekend," said Tai. "I'll visit UCLA officially later on in December if I choose them."
