Friday Prospect Preview: Week Nine

Some big games in the Valley, including a pair of unbeatens in Chaminade and Serra, and one in the Inland Empire mark this week's schedule...

Game of the Week: Gardena Serra vs. West Hills Chaminade
The Mission League title is on the line when a pair of unbeatens meet.  Upstart Chaminade hosts defending state champions Gardena Serra, who come in with a 23-game winning streak.  Chaminade's top prospect is their kicker, a top five kicker nationally, Matt Goudis, who's committed to Boise State.  Serra has a host of stars, including a pair of UCLA recruits in Jason Gibson and Marqise Lee to anchor the defense.

Chandler vs. Browne
In their final regular season game, Chandler and UCLA's committed quarterback Brett Hundley take on Browne.  The future Bruin will take on the Browne Bruins in a tuneup before the state playoffs begin next week.  Hundley returned to action last week after an ankle injury.

Crespi vs. Loyola
Jerry Neuheisel wasn't cleared for the Cubs' season finale, and will sit this one out, his senior year coming to an end because of a concussion, so that will leave Jared Baker as the Cubs' offensive leader.  Crespi features a pair of UCLA offer owners in 2012 offensive lineman Jordan Simmons and senior receiver Devin Lucien.

Other UCLA Commits in Action
Stockton Lincoln and receiver Brandin Cooks face Stockton Bear Creek.  Plano East and center Jacob Brendel take on Lewisville. Arvada West and Marc Mustoe play Fountain Fort Carson.  Modesto Christian and tight end Raymond Nelson take on Hughson.  Rancho Bernardo and Aaron Wallace host Ramona.  Los Alamitos and Ben Wysocki take on Huntington Beach. Lakewood and Torian White have a bye.

Other UCLA Offerees in Action
Cornerback Stefan McClure and Vista take on Rancho Buena Vista.  Moreno Valley Rancho Verde and tight end Junior Pomee go against Ramona.  Christian Heyward and Point Loma take on San Diego Serra.  Fontana Summit and Devon Blackmon meet Fontana Kaiser.

Thursday Night Action
Norco and UCLA target Brent Walker beat Riverside Poly, 42-21.
