Weekend Prospect Review: Week Nine

One of UCLA's main defensive targets has a huge night on the offensive side of the ball in Week Nine of the prep football season...

Game of the Week: Gardena Serra def. West Hills Chaminade, 35-21
Facing the prospect of their first loss in two years, and a potential two-touchdown deficit in the fourth quarter, the Serra defense held on a 4th and goal from the two with Chaminade about to go up 28-14.  Instead, it remained 21-14, and Serra scored three unanswered touchdowns, on passes from Conner Preston to George Farmer, Preston to Marqise Lee and a Shaq Richard run to clinch the Mission League title and earn their 24th straight win.

Vista def. Rancho Buena Vista, 35-10
One of UCLA's primary defensive targets, Vista cornerback Stefan McClure did most of his damage on offense in a 25-point win.  McClure had eight receptions for 218 yards and scored four touchdowns, three thruogh the air and one on a 33-yard interception to help Vista bounce back from their first loss of the season.

Chandler def. Browne, 52-7
In a game that was over early, the Wolves had a 28-0 lead, Brett Hundley was perfect in a short nights work, as the Wolves prepared for the state playoffs.  Hundley was 7-for-7 for 71 yards and ran for 23 yards on three carries, in just a quarter.

Crespi def. Loyola, 41-7
Jerry Neuheisel was sidelined for what would be Loyola's final game of the season, and the Cubs missed him, getting trounced by the Celts.  UCLA target Devin Lucien had a big night, with UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel there, catching eight passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns, and had an 80-yard touchdown, on the game's first play from scrimmage, called back for a penalty.
