Michael Fey, 6-11 C, Olympia (Wash.) Capital, didn't pass the latest attempt at the SAT, according to sources.
That's the last SAT administered until October.
He's still waiting on the results of the ACT he took at the beginning of June.
There are a few options if he doesn't get a qualifying ACT score: Sources indicate that he could go to a JC to take classes and not play basketball. He would then attempt to take the SAT and ACT in the fall again. If he passed the test administered in October or November he could enroll in the winter quarter at UCLA that starts in December.
If he doesn't pass either test this fall, he would more than likely complete his year at a JC, keep attempting to pass the test and then enter UCLA in fall of 2002.
There is still the option that he'd go to prep school for a year while trying to pass the test, but UCLA would more than likely prefer that he attend a JC in Southern California -- to keep him close and keep him away from any other schools recruiting him.
If Fey doesn't pass, UCLA will not be over the scholarship limit for next season.
