Wilson To Visit UCLA in January

Bakersfield (Calif.) West cornerback/receiver Fred Wilson had a solid senior season, but now that it has come to a close, the three-star will turn his attention to recruiting.

"I'm going to visit UNLV on December 17th," said Wilson, who's lone offer is from the Rebels.

Wilson is still hoping for an offer from UCLA, a place he camped at this summer and has made no bones about being his favorite.

"Coach (Clark) Lea offered me an official visit in January, and I think that's when they'll offer me," said Wilson. "I don't know the actual date but the visit is going to be in late January."

Wilson said that Fresno State is also showing strong interest in him of late, and that the Rebels, Bulldogs and Bruins round out his top three.

He attended a couple of UCLA's games this year and plans to be at their season finale against USC.

"I went to two of their games, against Houston and Washington State and really liked them," said Wilson, who was also at the Fall Scrimmage.

Wilson said he doesn't plan to make a decision until after he visits UCLA and knows what all of his options are.

He played on both sides of the ball for West this year, with 27 tackles, 11 pass deflections, six interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries on defense while catching 50 passes for 760 yards and five touchdowns.

Academically, Wilson said he's fully qualified.
