A Closer Look: 2012 QB Bart Houston

Scout.com takes a closer look at 2012 Concord (Calif.) De La Salle quarterback Bart Houston, one of the top passers in the 2012 class out West...

Name: Bart Houston
School: Concord (Calif.) De La Salle
Position: Quarterback
Size: 6-3, 190-pounds
Class: 2012
Recruitment: Interest and offers from several Western schools
Scout.com Ranking: Four-Star, member of Class of 2012 Scout 100

Scout.com Evaluation: Houston may be the top quarterback in the state of California in the 2012 class, and he is the model of efficiency.

Already holding a state title in the open division as a sophomore, the pressure isn't a problem for Houston.

We saw De La Salle in person this year, against Amador Valley, and Houston was 8-for-10 for 157 yards with two passing touchdowns and a touchdown run in less then a half of work, and his two incompletions were a drop and a pass that just missed being a 37-yard touchdown, when the receiver stumbled, the same play he ran the previous series for a 36-yard score.

Houston has a hose on him and is pretty athletic for his size.  He's won 25 games in two years as a starter and has a chance for a second straight title.
