Edwards Says He's Still Very Open

Stanford has long been thought to be the leader for one of the best quarterback prospects in the country, Trent Edwards from Los Gatos, but he insists he's still very much open...

Trent Edwards, 6-3, 185, Los Gatos (Calif.) High, easily confirmed his place as one of the best quarterback prospects in the nation with his performance at the Nike Stanford Camp.

At the camp, Edwards said that, when it comes to potential colleges, he's looking at all of the Pac-10 California schools particularly without a preference. "I'm looking at UCLA, USC, Stanford and USC, and I really don't have a leader among them."

Edwards also said that he's considering some out-of-state schools. "I'm also looking at Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida and Miami," Edwards said. "Right now, I'm not ruling out anyone."

Much has been said about Edwards leaning toward Stanford and that he could commit early. "That's not true," he said. "I really don't have a leader right now. And I want to wait and go through the process. I want to be able to see all the schools I'm considering and make a good decision."
