Steward Wowed By UCLA Visit

St. Augustine (Fla.) Menendez linebacker Tony Steward, the nation's top middle linebacker prospect, talks about his official visit to UCLA...

St. Augustine (Fla.) Menendez middle linebacker Tony Steward was the most high profile recruit that UCLA brought in last weekend for an official visit.

The #1 middle linebacker prospect nationally by, took the first of five scheduled visits, and it's the lone school that Steward is considering that is not in the SEC or ACC.

"Man, it was a great trip," said Steward. "It was better than I ever thought it would be."

Steward was hosted by freshman linebacker Eric Kendricks, and said he spent a lot of time with the players and coaches.

"I talked a lot with Brett Hundley, the quarterback, and he was just telling me everything about UCLA," said Steward. "I was already considering them, but now I'm really thinking about them."

Steward said he enjoyed being in Los Angeles.

"L.A. is a really cool place and I loved it out there," said Steward. "It was a different experience from what I'm used to being from down here. But it was really a good experience."

Now the Bruin coaches have to sit back and watch the Southeast native take his next four trips to schools from his neck of the Woods.

He'll be at Florida next weekend, then Alabama, Clemson and Florida State in January.

The U.S. Army All-American will likely be deciding on Signing Day.
