He's taking official visits with the intent of enrolling in college this year.
Daniels was originally part of the 2010 high school class, and so is currently academically qualified to enroll at a four-year school. The plan is for him to enroll in the second semester of the college of his choice, but not play.
Dinos Trigonis, his AAU coach, wanted to clear up any misunderstanding about Daniels enrolling early.
"DeAndre Daniels will not suit up in a college uniform this year," Trigonis said. "That's not happening. Wherever he goes he's going to go there during the break, get acclimated with the team and play next year. That's their plan. He's not playing this year.""
"He had a nice visit to Kentucky," Trigonis said. "He is planning on visit Texas in the next seven to ten days. He's not going to enroll at Kentucky or anywhere else with the purpose of playing this year."
"The kid and the dad will make the decision," Trigonis told Scout.com. "My gut feeling is that the three leaders are Kansas, Texas and Kentucky. That's my gut feeling."
Daniels is ranked No. 35 overall in Scout.com's 2011 top 100.
