White Planning Visits in January

Lakewood (Calif.) offensive tackle Torian White, a UCLA commit, will take some official trips next month, to a few more Pac-10 schools...

Lakewood (Calif.) offensive tackle Torian White (6-7, 270), has been committed to UCLA since June, and he says nothing has changed with his verbal to the Bruins.

"I'm still committed to UCLA," said White.

But he's not completely shutting the door on other programs.

"At the same time, I'm still hearing out other schools," said White. "I committed so early to UCLA that I want to visit schools to compare them."

So far, Arizona is the only school White has officially visited, but he'll take three of them in January.

"I'm going to UCLA on January 14th, Oregon State on January 21st and then USC on January 28th," said White. "My final, final decision will come closer to Signing Day."

White said that SMU, Arizona State and Cal are also making a pitch for him.

He's had in-home visits with five schools to date.

"I've had in-home visits with- Arizona State, Arizona, Oregon State, UCLA and USC," said White. "All the schools are looking at me as a tackle."

White said considering other schools has made things a little hectic.

"It's been a little difficult as far as talking to schools and them pulling me in every direction, but at the same time, it's a good opportunity," said White.

White visited Arizona when they hosted Arizona State and attended a handful of UCLA and USC games this season.

He'll play in one more game as a prepster, late next week, when he plays in the Offense-Defense Bowl in South Carolina.

"I'm pretty excited about that game," said White.

Once the season ends, White said he'll play volleyball for the Lancers.

Academically, White has a 3.0 and scored a 1200 on the SAT.
