Ellis McCarthy, the 6-5, 295-pound lineman from Monrovia (Calif.) High, has one scholarship offer to date.
"I have an offer from UCLA," said McCarthy. "I am also getting interest from Boise State, Tennessee and USC."
McCarthy looks forward to taking some campus visits over the course of the next few months. He has been able to take in the game day atmosphere at a couple of schools, but he is ready for the guided tour.
"I went to see UCLA vs. Stanford, USC vs. Notre Dame and USC vs, Oregon," said Ellis."
The talented defensive tackle reports that he is in no hurry to make his college decision and that he wants to get to know more about all of the schools that are recruiting him.
When decision time comes people and a quality education will be at the top of his wish list.
"I am looking for nice coaching and good academics basically," said McCarthy.
