McClure Changes Visit Plans Up

Vista (Calif.) cornerback Stefan McClure talks about an unofficial to UCLA he took this past weekend and plans for an official next weekend, and what his timetable is looking like...

Vista (Calif.) cornerback Stefan McClure, the West's premier cover corner, was set to take an official visit to UCLA this weekend, but instead, took an unofficial visit to Westwood.

"I've been there so many times, that I already know a lot about the school, and Michigan just offered me and I want to take a visit out there, so I took an unofficial to UCLA this weekend," said McClure.

McClure's first offer came from San Diego State, when new Michigan coach Brady Hoke was with the Aztecs, and he continues to recruit McClure, the top prospect in San Diego, even with his move.

"We'll see what happens when I get up there, but I'm definitely interested in them," said McClure.

As for his visit to UCLA, McClure said it was enjoyable, even if it was different that the officials.

"It was still pretty good going there," said McClure. "I got to see the dorms and I had never actually seen them before. I hung out with Coach (Rick) Neuheisel, Coach (Tim) Hundley and Coach (Daronte) Jones and had a good time with them. And I talked to Sheldon Price and a couple of other guys on the team."

McClure was set to announce this week, but the visit to Michigan is pushing that back.

"I'll end up putting it off for after my visit to Michigan and then I'm trying to decide after that," said McClure.

McClure has already visited Boise State, Colorado, Oregon State and Washington officially and Cal, the other school he's strongly considering, got an unofficial visit, like UCLA.

"I figured since Cal and UCLA were easier to drive to, I'd take unofficials there," said McClure.

This week, McClure will entertain a host of schools for in-home visits.

"This week coming in, I've got San Diego State, Oregon State, UCLA, Boise State and Cal," said McClure.

McClure said he's ready to end things when he's done with his final visit.

"I'm ready to figure out what school I'm going to go to," said McClure.
