The Scout 2012 Watch Lister already has seven offers and more schools could be following suit.
More Pac-12 schools are taking an interest and they could be among the next group to offer.
"USC is talking with me, and they said the want players to go through the process a little bit before they offer and I'm getting a lot of letters from schools like UCLA and Oregon. A lot of schools that haven't offered, my first time hearing from them was an offer so we'll see when the schools I've talked with have offered. Like Michigan, they hadn't sent me a letter, but then they told my coach they were offering me."
The 6-7, 275-pounder said all schools are looking at him as an offensive tackle.
"Mostly as a left tackle, but it all depends on the school," said Murphy.
Murphy is planning to visit schools like Cal, Stanford, UCLA and Washington in the spring and took in games at both USC and UCLA last fall.
"I want to go through the process, and then in the summertime, narrow it down to a couple of schools," said Murphy. "I'm not planning on any camps just yet, I'm just thinking about it with my coach."
Academically, Murphy has a 3.93 GPA and will take the SAT in the spring.
He was a First Team All-State Underclass selection by GoldenStatePreps.com in 2010.
