Jacobs Getting on the Map

Arroyo Grande (Calif.) safety Seth Jacobs is giving colleges a reason to hit the Central Coast of the Golden State...

Once a frequent stop on college recruiters list, the Central Coast of California has been relatively barren the past few years, void of top prospects.

Arroyo Grande (Calif.) safety Seth Jacobs (6-1, 198), is hoping to change that and already schools are taking notice of the all-state underclass selection.

"I don't have any offers yet but I'm getting mail from Oregon, Penn State, Colorado, Nebraska and Michigan and I'm hoping to hear more from the in-state schools like Cal, USC and UCLA."

Jacobs knows his location could be a detriment so he's taken it upon himself to make himself known.

"I'm starting to call schools and be proactive," said Jacobs. "I'm not going to be picky about this process."

Jacobs is camping at Nebraska, Oregon and USC and works out with Big Picture Athletics and will likely play in the Badger/New Level 7on7 next month.

"I'm working out with J.T. Stone (with Big Picture Athletics) and trying to get my name out there," said Jacobs. "And I'm getting my junior film out there for coaches to see."

Jacobs can play either safety or cornerback, but said he prefers safety.

"Schools are looking at me as a safety," said Jacobs.

One of the top performers at the U.S. Army Combine last month, Jacobs opened a lot of eyes as a junior at Arroyo Grande.

In his state selection season, he had 106 tackles, four sacks, four pass deflections and three interceptions.

Brandon is in his seventh year with Scout.com, currently as the West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout Network since 2003.
