Compton (Calif.) Dominguez defensive end Damion Turpin (6-3, 245) got a chance to meet the defensive coordinator and new defensive line coach at UCLA this past weekend, while there for the Bruins Meet & Greet.

"It was pretty cool up there, I liked it," said Turpin. "It was like my third or fourth time checking out the campus. This time, I got to meet the new defensive coordinator, Coach Tresey and I thought he was a cool person and I thought that was good. They're coming to make changes, so I appreciate that. A lot of coaches can come in but I think he'll be successful.

He also had his first chance to meet new defensive line coach Inoke Breckterfield.

"I also got to meet Coach Breckterfield and I liked him too. He was really cool and seems to know what he's talking about," said Turpin.

Turpin, who owns offer from UCLA, Washington, Colorado, Oregon State, Arizona State and Duke, said he wasn't in any hurry to make a decision.

"UCLA is definitely trying to get me to their school, but they're not trying to get me to rush things," said Turpin. "They want me to take my time and make the best decision."

Which is fine with Turpin.

"I'm not in any rush, not at all," said Turpin.

As a junior, Turpin had 33 tackles and four sacks.

Turpin has a 3.2 GPA and will take the SAT in June.
