Another James on UCLA's Radar

Corona (Calif.) defensive tackle Drew James is making a name for himself on a different side of the ball than his brother, Jordon James...

Corona (Calif.) defensive tackle Drew James has already seen the recruiting process up closely once, watching his brother Jordon James, a freshman running back at UCLA, go through it.

Now it's James' turn and he's hoping to have similar success during the process.

"I don't have any offers yet, but I'm hearing from Nebraska, Oregon, UCLA, Colorado, San Diego State and Iowa State the most and I went to USC's Junior Day," said James.

James enjoyed the Junior Day experience.

"It was nice and I learned a lot about it," said James. "My coach, Chris Claiborne, played at USC and told me to go to it. I talked a lot with Coach (James) Cregg there."

James has been to UCLA numerous times, but plans to return in the spring.

"I went there a bunch when Jordon was getting recruited, but I'll be going there as a recruit in the spring," said James. "Coach (Wayne) Moses is recruiting me for UCLA."

James said if the opportunity presented itself, playing in college with his brother would be one he'd like to pursue, but it's not bond he'd go there if they offered.

"It would be great to play with Jordon in college, but I want to make sure I'm doing what is best for me," said James.

The 6-1, 265-pound James said he'd like to go through the process and take as many official visits as he can before he decides.

Academically, he has a 3.1 GPA and will take the SAT in the spring.
