Johnson Making His Own Name

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco receiver Justin Johnson is looking to make a name for himself...

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco is home to a pretty solid receiving tandem. Most know about Bryce Treggs, but Justin Johnson gives the Braves a nice 1-2 punch.

The 6-1, 190-pound Johnson is waiting for his first offer, but is visiting schools, and looking for that offer to come.

"I'm hearing the most from Stanford, San Diego State and Northwestern," said Johnson. "I also like Miami, Washington, Colorado State, SMU and UCLA."

Johnson took in Stanford's Junior Day last month.

"It was awesome at Stanford," said Johnson. "They treated me real good up there and told me they're watching me. We got to check out the weight room, the locker room, all of that. The fact they place school way before any sports, that's big for me because academics are their biggest priority. Getting a degree from there will give you a lot of options in life. They're showing a lot of interest and said they want me going to one of their camps, and if I stand out, there is a great chance they could offer me."

Johnson said his top schools included Stanford, Northwestern, San Diego State, Washington, UCLA and Miami, but he's open to anyone.

"I honestly want to go where there is not a lot of depth and I can play early as a freshman," said Johnson.

Johnson will be playing in the Badger 7on7 tournament this weekend for Alliance Sports.

Brandon is in his seventh year with Scout.com, currently as the West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout Network since 2003.
