Allen Another Don to Watch

Compton (Calif.) Dominguez offensive lineman Dejon Allen, one of the standouts at the Badger Elite Lineman Challenge, is another talented 2012 prospect for the Dons...

Compton (Calif.) Dominguez offensive guard Dejon Allen is often overshadowed by his Dons teammates like Lacy Westbrook and Damion Turpin, but the 6-3, 265-pound Allen is a prospect in his own right.

He was one of the more athletic lineman to participate last weekend in the Badger Elite Lineman Challenge in Las Vegas, spending time as both a defensive lineman and offensive lineman.

So it's no surprise that much of his recruitment has him being looked at on both sides of the ball.

"I have offers from Arizona, Arizona State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Washington and SMU," said Allen. "Some are as an offensive guard and some as a defensive end. But I want to play guard."

Allen is also interested in Cal, Ohio State, UCLA and USC.

"I want to try and take all of my visits before I decide on a school," said Allen.

Allen said that he and his Dominguez teammates, five in all with D-I offers, have talked about playing together in college.

"Oh that would be real cool if we could, but we're all going to go through the process ourselves," said Allen.

Allen will camp at the Asante Trenchman Academy this weekend and then the Los Angeles Nike Camp next month and that is his only plan for camps for the time being.

Academically, Allen said he's in solid shape and will take the SAT this spring.

Brandon is in his seventh year with Scout.com, currently as the West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout Network since 2003.
