Strong Start to Bruce's Spring

Danville (Calif.) Monte Vista cornerback Dalis Bruce has shined so far in the spring as he is in search of his first offer...

Danville (Calif.) Monte Vista has been known for its offensive prowess traditionally, but their top prospect this year is a guy who's made a name for himself this spring as a defensive back, cornerback Dalis Bruce.

Selected to the Badger 7on7 All-Vegas team, Bruce was one of the top performers there, especially amongst defensive backs.

Bruce is still waiting for his first offer, but a host of schools are showing interest.

"I like Cal a lot, I went to their Junior Day, and then Colorado, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford and UCLA," said Bruce.

Bruce has three standing out for him in the early going.

"My top three would be Stanford, Cal and Colorado," said Bruce. "I have a lot of friends at Stanford and a lot of friends at Cal and then I'm going to visit Colorado for their camp."

Bruce is placing a high emphasis on academics.

"The academics, first and foremost, are the biggest thing because education is first for me," said Bruce.

While waiting for offers, Bruce said he's in no rush to make a decision.

"I'm going to wait and see and keep my options open," said Bruce. "I'm open to everything."

Brandon is in his seventh year with, currently as the West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout Network since 2003.
