Marks Starts To Make His Move

A productive spring is netting Los Angeles (Calif.) Venice receiver Gabriel Marks more offers, including one from the local school...

Los Angeles (Calif.) Venice receiver Gabriel Marks (6-0, 175) is finally seeing the offers roll in.

The four-star had been holding steady at one, from SMU, and even after he won MVP honors at the Badger Elite 7on7, things were slow.

Then a week after, two Pac-12 offers came in and a third Pac-12 offer came after another stellar showing at the Los Angeles Nike Camp.

Colorado and Utah had offered Marks the week following the showing in Vegas, but then UCLA, where he'd been hoping for an offer from, came through.

"That was a great offer," said Marks. "I'd been waiting on that one for a while. I was surprised."

Marks got the news from head coach Rick Neuheisel.

"They told me to call and I called Coach Neuheisel and he offered me," said Marks. "He just said that he would love for me to be a Bruin. My mom really likes it too."

With the floodgates starting to open, four offers under his belt, Marks is still being deliberate in his recruitment.

"I'm still taking my time," said Marks. "I just want to keep getting better, and make schools notice me."
