OL Prospect John Ioane

He's huge, pretty quick for his size, and considered one of the best offensive line prospects in the Los Angeles Area. Tustin's John Ioane is getting interest from and favors Pac-10 and Big 12 schools...

John Ioane, 6-3 ½, 329, Tustin (Calif.) High, is another in a steady stream of talent coming from Tustin High, and is considered one of the best offensive line prospects in Southern California.

Ioane, who is pretty wide at 329 pounds, has pretty good quickness for his size. He ran a 5.37 at the recent Los Angeles Nike Camp, while also putting up 17 reps on the bench.

Most of the Pac-10 is recruiting Ioane, along with the elite of the Big 12 – Oklahoma, Nebraska and Colorado. So far, Ioane doesn't have a scholarship offer.

When asked about a list of favorites, Ioane said, "My top five are UCLA, USC, Washington State, Oklahoma and Nebraska. I've always been a UCLA fan. Growing up they were my favorite. But I think right now USC would be my favorite."

Ioane attended a UCLA spring practice last week, as well as attending USC's spring practice. He said that he'd really like to stay close to home and attend either local school. "My family would like me to stay," he said. "Another big thing for me is the graduation rate. My mom really wants me to graduate from college. And I really just want a strong, good team in general."

Ioane has a 2.5 GPA and is taking the SAT for the first time May 3rd.
