Making his debut on Scout.com's updated 2012 rankings was 6-foot-4, 175-pound Bakersfield (Calif.) point guard Tyrone Wallace, who came in 97th in the country.
The ranking was deserved as the lanky point guard has made strides in his game over the past year, although he is still working to improve.
"I think I've worked on my shot a little bit," Wallace said. "It's still not where I want it to be but it's doing better. I also feel like I've improved my free throws. I get to the rack and do what I need for the team.
"I need to get stronger, work on my ball handling and I need to keep working on my shot. Also I'm working on my defense and lateral quickness."
Wallace has accumulated offers from Arizona State, California, Colorado, Florida State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Nevada, Oregon, San Diego State, San Francisco, UNLV and Utah, with the three most recent ones coming from Oregon, Cal and Florida State.
Beyond those schools, Wallace is hearing from a handful of others.
"I think UCLA might offer. They're recruiting pretty tough," Wallace said. "I'm also being recruited by Pennsylvania, Harvard and Stanford."
There are two important aspects for Wallace when choosing a school.
"I want to play coming in and I want to have a chance to win," he said.
One of the only high major point guards out west in 2012, Wallace will be heavily recruited until he makes a decision.
However, he doesn't plan on jumping the gun any time soon.
"I'm still pretty open right now," he said. "I'm just taking it in. I'll narrow it down by next year. I'll probably play my senior year and then make a decision."
Wallace Plans on Waiting
