On Wednesday afternoon, he went from favoring the Bruins to committing to them.
"I verbally committed to UCLA today," said Wooching. "I committed to Coach (Inoke) Breckterfield and Coach (Rick) Neuheisel. They were both on the phone."
For the Bruins, it's the second straight day they got a commitment from a Hawaiian prospect, Wooching joining Honolulu (Hawaii) Punahou running back Steven Lakalaka.
Wooching said he'll be playing on offense with Lakalaka but could also see time on defense.
"They want me as a running back slash linebacker," said Wooching.
So what drew Wooching to UCLA?
"The athletics, but mostly the school's high reputation in their schooling," said Wooching.
And the coaches also played a role.
"My talents should flourish there too, due to the great coaching staff," said Wooching.
Wooching said his family was thrilled with his decision.
"My family is really happy for this once-in-a-lifetime chance," said Wooching.
