Spring Emergence for Donte Deayon

Fontana (Calif.) Summit cornerback Donte Deayon has an MVP performance at the Stanford Nike Camp and things are picking up for him...

Fontana (Calif.) Summit cornerback Donte Deayon had as good a week as one could have last week.

It started with the 5-9, 155-pounder landing his first offer, from Boise State, and it ended with him earning DB MVP honors at the Stanford Nike Camp.

"It was a good week," said Deayon. "When I got the offer, I was really relieved and I was just able to go and ball at the Nike Camp. There were a lot of great defensive backs there and great receivers, and I just played my game."

Deayon said that the Broncos are the favorite right now, but he's also hearing from numerous other schools.

"Washington, Fresno State, Colorado, Colorado State, San Jose State and Utah have all been by the school," said Deayon. "And more schools have been wanting me to come out to their camp."

Two of those schools who want him to camp are the local schools, USC and UCLA.

"I think USC is close to offering, they want me to come out for the 1-day camp, UCLA as well, they want me to camp there too," said Deayon.

But Deayon said both trail his leader, Boise State.

"I'd like to make my decision sometime in June," said Deayon.

Academically, he's in solid shape with a 3.6 GPA and a 1280 on the SAT.
