McDaniel Will Let Process Play Out

Torrance (Calif.) North running back/linebacker Ryan McDaniel has five offers and no plans for an early decision...

Torrance (Calif.) North two-way threat Ryan McDaniel (6-0, 226), is now at five offers, with UCLA the latest to join the mix.

"UCLA just offered me, as a running back," said McDaniel. "Arizona offered me as a running back, Arizona State as a linebacker and Idaho and Iowa State said I could play anywhere."

McDaniel, though, is open to either side.

"I don't really have a preference, I just want to get on the field," said McDaniel.

McDaniel has worked at both positions at various camps this spring, but has earned more accolades on defense.

"I was the Linebacker MVP at the NUC Camp," said McDaniel.

When it comes to a school, McDaniel said he has no preference there either, at least right now.

"I'm going to go through the whole recruiting process and I don't plan on making a commitment until the end of the season," said McDaniel.

Aside from his five offers, McDaniel said he's hearing steadily from USC, Boise State and Oregon State. He'd also like to hear more from Oklahoma, his childhood favorite.

"Arizona State, UCLA and Idaho are recruiting me the hardest right now," said McDaniel.

Academically, McDaniel has a 2.8 and scored a 1250 on the SAT.
