"A lot of schools have come by the high school and talked to Coach Coop, and I throw for them during my weight training or they come back another scheduled day," said Keeney.
Keeney has been in contact with numerous West Coast schools as he looks for offer number one.
"I've heard from San Diego State, Washington, Idaho, Arizona State, Washington State, and Nevada and I'll be going to camp as a team to Fresno State," said Keeney. "I talked to Coach (Mike) Johnson from UCLA (last week) and they want me to come down for their 1-day camp and throw in front of him and Coach (Rick) Neuheisel."
Keeney said that a handful of schools have them high on their boards.
"Washington State said I'm one of them at the top of their list, San Diego State and Fresno State have been coming with a lot of interest, UCLA has shown some interest now and so has Nevada," said Keeney.
Keeney took unofficial visits to a couple of California schools.
"I went to a spring practice at UCLA and took a tour of San Diego State, and visited around," said Keeney.
Keeney said he's completely open at this point.
Academically, he has a 3.4 GPA and scored a 1530 on the SAT.
As a junior, Keeney was 161-for-283 for 2,520 yds and 33 touchdowns.
