Marshall Completely Wide Open

San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian running back Byron Marshall isn't favoring anyone at this point and said he's completely wide open...

San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian running back Byron Marshall, the West's top back, is nearing 20 offers, but doesn't see any immediate plans to trim his list, but knows that the time will come soon for him to do that.

"I'm in the high teens with offers, but I want to hear from some SEC schools too," said Marshall. "I need to start forming a list, but I'm not quite ready for that."

Still, Marshall acknowledged a handful of schools were on his list.

"Oregon, Cal, Arizona State, Notre Dame, Washington, UCLA, mostly the Pac-12," said Marshall.

Marshall spent some time in Tempe during his spring break to visit his brother Cameron, a running back for Arizona State.

"I was down at Arizona State for my spring break, but it wasn't really a visit to the school, it was to see my brother," said Marshall. "But I do like the school and the town."

Marshall said he may use the summer to take some unofficial visits.

"I think me and my dad are going to go some places, we're just not sure where," said Marshall.

Marshall has been to Arizona State, Cal and Stanford already during the spring.

In terms of official visits, he's not sure who will be on the receiving end of those.

"I have no idea on the visits, I just don't know," said Marshall. "If I feel the right school, I may not take all of them, but if I have to take all five visits, I will."

As a junior, Marshall ran for 1,360 yards and 18 touchdowns, helping VC to the CIF-CCS Open Division finals.
