Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral quarterback Matt Morin (6-2, 205) was close to making his college decision, but has decided to hold off.

Nearly committing to Arizona State, Morin took an unofficial visit to UCLA, after having camped there a week before.

While he still waits for an offer from UCLA, Morin is keeping things open to see what the Bruins do.

Morin said the camp experience at UCLA was a good one for him, and a big reason why he's holding off on making a decision.

"I thought the camp was awesome," said Morin. "There was good competition and I really enjoyed it. Pretty much Coach (Rick) Neuheisel and Coach (Mike) Johnson were on me the whole day and I was one of the main quarterbacks they were watching."

Morin had a good unofficial visit to UCLA and got some feedback from the coaches on when a potential offer could come.

"They're finishing their camps this week and they have a couple of quarterbacks coming that they're still evaluating but they'll be making their decision pretty soon on who they're going to offer and I'm one of the quarterbacks they really like," said Morin.

In the meantime, Arizona State continues to be heavily in the mix for the lefty.

"Coach (Noel) Mazzone is a great coach and I really like him and what Arizona State has to offer," said Morin.

Morin has already camped at UCLA, doing so at the 1-Day Camp, and will not be there on Sunday for their Skills Camp, instead, he'll be at the Nike Football Training Camp at Washington. He's already earned MVP honors for quarterbacks at the Los Angeles NFTC.

Last fall, Morin threw for 1,719 yards and 12 touchdowns to five interceptions and rushed for 292 yards and three touchdowns.
