"I committed today to UCLA," said Yakoo.
Yakoo called UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel and assistant coach Tim Hundley offerless, but that didn't last long.
"I called up Coach Hundley and he offered me and I committed right then," said Yakoo. "I talked to Coach Neuheisel too and they were both pretty excited."
Yakoo was one of the standouts at UCLA's Lineman Camp on Saturday, but left without an offer. Still, he thought one might be coming, and if it would, he knew what he'd do.
0 "I had already thought about it before because UCLA has been pretty much up there at the top, and I thought why not commit. My parents love the area, I love the school, and it's a nice, nice place to be around. I loved the campus when I toured it," said Yakoo.
Yakoo said the UCLA coaches want him to play inside as a guard. "They want me to play on the interior and that's good for me," said Yakoo. "I was really happy with how I did at the camp. I think I did pretty good."
He was glad to get the decision over with too.
"Now I can get ready for my senior year," said Yakoo. "I didn't want to be thinking about it. I just wanted to get it done earlier."
And his family is thrilled.
"Coach Neuheisel talked to both my mom and dad and they were really happy. They're really happy for me."
Yakoo is the third commit this week for the Bruins and the second on Friday, and their fifth overall.
