"My goal for participating was to be one of the best linemen out there and to get an award," said Poutasi.
Poutasi already is a standout amongst the 2012 recruiting class, having received 17 scholarship offers.
However he is in no rush to make a final decision.
"I have 17 offers. After my football season, is when I am going to start narrowing down my offer list," said Poutasi.
In the meantime, Poutasi discussed which of the schools on his offer list get him excited.
"I am excited about Oregon. They have said they are about to offer me. That would be a huge one for me. Oregon stands out in my mind because, of the tradition over there. I always wanted to play there when I was little," said Poutasi. "Also UCLA, because who wouldn't be excited about that offer. And Vanderbilt, they are my only SEC school. I really like the coach that is recruiting me from there. They have a great program."
Poutasi revealed what he is looking for in a program.
"Academics are really important to me, and the exposure to the NFL. My ultimate goal is to play in the NFL," said Poutasi. "Location isn't that big of a factor for me. I just want to go wherever I feel comfortable and if they have what I am looking for."
This summer, Poutasi is getting pumped up for his upcoming senior season.
"I want to leave a name for myself at my school. All of the senior on our team want to take our team to state, which would be a first for our school. I feel confident in our ability to go all the way," said Poutasi.
