Brown Keeping All Options Open

Gardena (Calif.) Serra linebacker Thomas Brown has three offers already but thinks that two more could be coming soon from the Pac-12...

Thomas Brown (6-2, 220) has offers from SMU, Arizona State and Colorado, and he feels that two more programs could pull the trigger shortly.

"I think UCLA and Oregon will be next to offer," said Brown. "I'm looking for the right fit and I want to wait to make a decision until after I take some official visits.

"I want to visit the campuses so I can see how I'll adapt to each school. SMU is definitely going to get an official visit. Coach (Adrian) Klemm is most definitely a good recruiter. He's the type of guy that's always there to answer his phone, anytime you call. You can talk to him and ask him about anything."

Brown's teammate, DE/LB Kache Palacio, committed to SMU earlier this month.

"Kache called me right after he committed," recalled Brown. "I thought that was real cool for him to commit to SMU. He wanted me to commit with him. A lot of people think we're related, because we're always together.

"We want to be teammates in college. I just need to check things out for myself at SMU first."

Both Brown and Palacio transferred from other programs to Serra for their senior year.

"I was 30 minutes away (at Long Beach St. Anthony's)," said Brown. "It's really great to be at Serra. I'll have better opportunities to showcase my talents here.

"I like the atmosphere and the competition. There's a lot of people here with the same goals."

Brown has set a personal goal of collecting at least 140 tackles this fall.
