Westbrook Eager for Senior Year

Compton (Calif.) Dominguez offensive lineman Lacy Westbrook continues to come back from injury and is eager for his senior year as well as reigniting his recruitment...

Compton (Calif.) Dominguez offensive lineman Lacy Westbrook (6-5, 300), is one of the most heavily recruited linemen in the West in the class of 2012, and with double-digit offers, it would be easy for him to be caught up in recruiting.

But Westbrook's first focus is on getting healthy for his senior year.

"It's feeling good and I'm going to be ready for my senior year," said Westbrook. "We have a chance to have a good season if we all are healthy."

Still, Westbrook has given some attention to his recruitment.

"I'm going to take all five of my trips, I know that and I'll try to narrow my list down to about five schools by the time we start the season," said Westbrook.

Because of the foot injury, camp visits weren't possible for the summer, but he's eager to prove his senior year that he's still one of the top linemen.

In the meantime, there are still some schools standing out to Westbrook.

"UCLA, USC, Oregon, Washington and Auburn are the ones I'm looking at pretty seriously," said Westbrook. "I'd say that UCLA is still recruiting me the hardest."

Westbrook hasn't set any officials but knows one for sure.
