Cyburt Slowing Things Down

Mission Viejo (Calif.) offensive tackle Colby Cyburt is slowing his recruitment down and has a new time frame for when he wants to decide...

Mission Viejo (Calif.) offensive lineman Colby Cyburt (6-5, 265) was hoping to make a decision before his senior year started.

But that has changed.

"The biggest change is that I'm looking to commit around December or January and just wait it out," said Cyburt. "I know that I said earlier I wanted to commit before my season but I'm going to wait it out now. I'm thinking that before the end of summer, I want to go up to Boston College and Harvard."

Cyburt has previously visited Colorado, Stanford and UCLA unofficially, and camped at USC, but he's not sure which schools will get official visits from him.

"In terms of official visits, I have no idea which schools I'll use those five on," said Cyburt. "I haven't really thought of them yet."

But Cyburt does have a handful of schools he's focusing on.

"UCLA, Stanford, Oregon State, Colorado, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College and Harvard are the main schools I'm looking at," said Cyburt.

Cyburt said a few of them were recruiting him harder than others.

"I'd say Stanford, UCLA, Oregon State and Colorado were, but honestly I'm in contact with pretty much every school consistently," said Cyburt.

Cyburt said a few schools have told him they want to watch senior film and offers could come.

"The ones that haven't offered that I think could are Cal, Oregon and Notre Dame," said Cyburt.

No one has emerged for him.

"I don't have a favorite really but I've narrowed my search down to those schools mentioned earlier," said Cyburt. "I have a good relationship with the coaches at each of them."

Academically, Cyburt has a 3.8 overall GPA and took the SAT earlier in spring.
