Scout.com had a chance to catch up with Aaron Porter, the four-star linebacker from La Habra (Calif.) while he competed at the Cal-State Game Camp, where Porter is posturing for a chance to be selected to the game.

"It's been a great experience playing with new players I had never met before, and meeting everyone, all the coaches are all really nice. I am out to get better and get more reps for college," said Porter.

Earlier this month, Porter announced his early commitment to UCLA.

"I made the decision on July 4th. I have taken a lot of visits to the school in the last couple years. I have been a fan since I was little, so that's why I picked UCLA. I also really like the area, and having family next to you and always around. The coaches are great and so are the players, and everything around the school was just what I was looking for," said Porter.

Making the move from La Habra to UCLA will be a smooth transition for Porter, since UCLA runs a very similar style defense to the one at his HS.

"It is nice that they run the same style defense as my high school, which is a 4-3," said Porter. "It's totally official. I am 100% committed. I have already bought a bunch of UCLA gear. I will definitely be taking an official to UCLA in the fall; I am really looking forward to it."

Porter said it is a huge relief to have his mind made up at this point. Now that Porter's decision is out of the way, he looking forward to being able to focus all of his energy towards his upcoming senior season.

"It's definitely a relief to not have to think about any recruiting anymore or anyone calling me," said Porter. "Our high school has never made it to state, so I want to make it to state, for one. My goal for the season is to make 150 tackles and get 20 sacks."
