Projecting Hoops Depth Chart

It's a dubious endeavor, to project out a depth chart three years, but for entertainment value, here's what UCLA's basketball rosters might look like for the foreseeable future, and the recruiting needs in each of the next three recruiting classes...

2012-2013 SEASON

J. Adams (Fr)T. Wear (Jr)2012 C (Fr)
2012 PF (Fr)

**Yes, this equals 14, but we surmise that a returning player on this list probably won't return, which would free up one more scholarship for UCLA to bring in the five 2012 freshmen it intends to.

2013 Post (Fr)

**This is, of course, based on UCLA getting its five players at each position in 2012. If so, UCLA will probably have at least three scholarships to give in 2013, and perhaps more if one of the 2012 recruits is Shabazz Muhammad, and he happens to go one-and-out. Needs would be a small forward since Lamb is a senior and, again, if the 2012 SF is Muhammad. A post, either a power forward or center, would be good since you lose both Wears and Stover after the season. Then, a combo guard would be ideal like, say, Zach Lavine, who could back up Artis this season and then also be able to move over a position to make room for Parker Jackson-Cartwright in 2014.

2014 SG (Fr)2014 SF (Fr)2014 PF (Fr)

**It's impossible to project the recruiting needs three classes down the road, but we do it here for entertainment value only. UCLA very well could need another five-man class in 2014.
