Muhammad Talks L.A. Visits

Shabazz Muhammad, Scout.com's #1 prospect in 2012, recently unofficially visited UCLA and USC. He talks to Scout.com about his time on both campuses...

Last week, Scout.com's #1 2012 prospect in 6-foot-5, 207-pound Las Vegas Bishop Gorman small forward Shabazz Muhammad was able to take unofficial visits to USC and UCLA's campuses.

He started by going to see USC's campus for a practice.

"I just went to their practice to see how they're doing before they go overseas," Muhammad said. "It was a good opportunity for my family to enjoy their practice. I talked to the coaches after practice and they said a lot of good stuff about their team and how they have all these good players who can play now."

A couple days later, Muhammed was one of four unofficial visitors to UCLA's campus.

"I went to a football practice and toured the campus with the other guys who were there - Kyle Anderson, Shaq Goodwin and Jordan Adams," Muhammad said.

"I got to talk to a lot of the guys who were there and they really enjoyed themselves also. It was a good connection for all of us and we had fun touring the campus. The (UCLA coaches) were saying how much they wanted me and how good it would be if they got all four of us who were on campus. It was a great experience."

Muhammad was able to talk to the other three prospects on campus about the possibility of the four of them playing at UCLA together.

"They just asked me what I thought if we all went there and it would be a big thing," Muhammad said. "Jordan Adams is already committed there so of course he's trying to get us to commit also. He was saying we would win a lot of games if all of us went there. It was a good opportunity for all of us to connect and talk to each other."

While Muhammad acknowledges that the four of them all choosing UCLA is a possibility, it's too soon to say how likely of an option it is.

"It's a little too early to say but it's definitely something I'm looking at," Muhammad said. "That would be a great team if we had four highly talented players go to the same school. It's something that I'm going to really look at."

Muhammad's father, Ron Holmes, previously told Scout.com that Kentucky and Duke are the two schools who will definitely get official visits. The five-star prospect clarified the reason for those being the two schools which they've already decided to visit.

"Most of the schools I like are really close so I can take officials there or just go check them out (unofficially)," Muhammad said. "Those two schools are getting officials because they're so far away. All the others are getting looked at also."
