Hooker is Hooked on Pac-12

Three-star linebacker Reshawn Hooker from Fontana (Calif.) A. B. Miller discussed his top programs, including his most recent offer from UCLA...

For Reshawn Hooker, the three-star linebacker at Fontana (Calif.) A.B. Miller, the fall semester has kicked into gear this week.

"School started this week. It's exciting because I am playing in a new league at a different school this year. Since I am in a different division this season I want to make first team all league," said Hooker. "This transition from Arroyo Valley has been easy. I am playing with my same coach who also happens to be my uncle. Everyone at Miller has welcomed me onto the team. They all treat me like family."

Hooker has received an offer from 13 schools. His most recent offer came in early summer from UCLA.

"My most recent offer was from UCLA. I attended UCLA's Skill Camp over the summer," said Hooker. "I like UCLA because it's located close to home, so it doesn't require getting on a plane for my friends and family to come and watch me play. Getting a degree from there is a big deal. I also feel comfortable there and I like the coaches. I have been talking to Coach Moses and Coach Neuheisel."

Hooker is waiting to narrow down his list until he has a chance to see more schools in person.

"I consider all of the schools that have offered me on an even playing field, until I have a chance to see them in person," said Hooker. "I don't want to commit early, I want to wait to make a decision until after I have taken all five of my official visits. Without seeing the environment, the coaches and the players in person I couldn't commit to a school."

Hooker did name a few schools that are standing out, "UCLA, Boise State, Colorado, Arizona and Oregon State are schools that are standing out right now."

Boise State-"I have been in contact with them the most. I am trying to set up an official to Boise. I like the style of football they play. They also have a good program for what I want to major in which is athletic training; I just want to always stay close to sports. Also the coaching staff is great and very honest. I have been in close contact with Coach Bhonapha, they all really welcomed me when I went there."

Colorado- "Coach Cabral is my contact at Colorado. They also made me feel really welcome there. Coach Cabral came to spring practice to watch me play. I am planning on taking an official there as well."

Arizona- "Coach Kish came to my spring practice to see me play. They seem excited about me. They are also really honest and emphasis how hard work will get you the opportunity start. They also have strong academics."

Oregon State- "They offered me pretty recently, around when I received my offer from UCLA. It's a cool program, nice facilities and I like their weightlifting program. One of my teammates Mike Philips plays there."

Hooker discussed another school he is still waiting to hear from.

"I am hoping to get involved with California. They are a great football program. I like the environment up there. Growing up I was always interested in forensic science, and they have a strong science department with that major," said Hooker.
