Kentucky Prospect to Take Visit

One of Kentucky's best prospects, a talented cornerback, will take an official visit to a Pac-12 school...

Jalen Boyd has proven to be one of Kentucky's best 2012 prospects. The three-star corner has earned scholarship offers from Western Kentucky, Illinois and Stanford, but could there be another offer on its way?

Boyd, the 6-1, 185-pound prospect from Louisville (Kent.) Western, has told Scout.com that he'll be taking an official visit to a Pac 12 program not named Stanford (a school who has offered)

"On October 15th I'm going up to UCLA," said Boyd. "Yes, it's an official visit."

Boyd hasn't talked with the UCLA staff directly, but his father and Head Coach, LaVell Boyd, informed his son of the visit.

"They called my dad because I was in school. I don't talk to them that often," he finished.

Boyd and Western started off the season on August 19th with an 18-15 win over Ballard. They are next in action this Friday against Male.

Scout.com just named Boyd one of Ketucky's best five defenders for 2012:

Jalen Boyd: CB – 6-foot-1, 190-pounds – Possesses great size, strength and an aggressive nature, Jalen Boyd can be an elite defensive back as a safety or as a corner. Boyd is willing to take on any player in front of him and has the athleticism to be successful on every play. Because of Boyd's versatility and his ranginess most coaches are intrigued by his ability to play anywhere in the defensive backfield.
