Despite nearly committing then, Richardson decided to wait it out.
After attending UCLA's first home game, Richardson didn't want to wait any longer.
"I committed to UCLA on Saturday before the San Jose State game," said Richardson. "They believed in me. They were the first school to offer me and that means a lot. Other schools were calling me, but they offered and believed."
Richardson committed to UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel and he said that the head coach was thrilled.
"He was pretty excited for me," said Richardson, who said that assistant coach Clark Lea is the one recruiting him.
Richardson said that the UCLA coaches want him to play safety in Westwood.
He took in the game at the Rose Bowl on Saturday and enjoyed his time in the Arroyo Seco.
"It was a good atmosphere, I liked the crowd and the coaches and it's nice to be in the Rose Bowl," said Richardson. "It seems like a great place to play." Richardson said he was relieved to be done with his recruitment.
"I'm really happy to be done with it," said Richardson.
