In the testing, he ran a 4.56 40, a 4.11 in the shuttle, did 31 reps on the bench and jumped 31 inches in the vertical – all mind-blowing numbers for a defensive end.
Schweiger, who in his junior season recorded 138 tackles and 13 sacks, rattled off a good-sized list of schools he's interested in. "USC, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Michigan, Colorado, Miami and UCLA," Schweiger said, as he tried to come up with more.
When asked if he had a favorite, he said, "USC is probably my favorite right now." He said that all of the schools on his list had offered, except for Miami. "Yeah, I'm still waiting on that one."
He talked about UCLA and had an interesting take. "I love UCLA and its campus. Right now they might not be as high on my list because they have a new coach, and I want to see how they do. But that's the nicest campus."
He'll wait to make a decision, at least until he takes all five of his visits, he said. "I want to take all five of my visits and really get to know the schools. I want to get to know the coaches, really understand the programs, and get a feel for the atmosphere. I really don't care if the school is close or far away."
Schweiger has a 3.0 GPA and said he plans on taking the SAT in June.
