Breslin Works Toward December

The Diablo Valley (Calif.) College defensive end, Morgan Breslin, a commit to UCLA, is doing everything he can to graduate in December so he can be on campus in time for spring practice...

Diablo Valley (Calif.) College defensive end Morgan Breslin committed to UCLA during the summer, making his focus for the fall pretty clear.

"I committed to UCLA and I'm not talking with any other schools," said Breslin. "Now I'm just focused on graduating in December so I can be there in January. I'm taking a full course load, with seven classes, to make sure I can. So that's what I'm shooting for."

Breslin said that he does stay in regular contact with the Bruin coaches.

"They've been calling me quite a bit," said Breslin. "I've talked with Coach (Rick) Neuheisel a couple of times and Coach (Angus) McClure. I met Coach (Jim) Tresey too. I haven't had a chance yet to speak with Coach (Inoke) Breckterfield."

The worst case for Breslin is a May graduation and summer enrollment. But he'd like to be their sooner, for obvious reasons.

"Everyone's ultimate goal is to play right away, so that would be great," said Breslin. "I'd come in and put in a lot of work to make it happen. Being there for spring would really help."

Breslin is playing defensive end for Diablo Valley with some snaps at tackle.

"I'm playing some nose and tackle and a lot outside too," said Breslin. "A lot depends on the offense we're playing."

But Breslin said the UCLA coaches have just end in mind for him.

"They want me to put on some more weight and just play defensive end," said Breslin.

Breslin and DVC is 2-0 and faces Sierra College this weekend.
