Some News from Parker's Visit

The elite 6-8 center from Georgia, Tony Parker, took an unofficial visit to UCLA this weekend, and we have some bits of news from the visit...

Tony Parker, the 6-8 elite center from Lithonia (Georgia) Miller Grove, officially visited UCLA last weekend, and a couple of sources gave us some snippets about the visit.

He didn't verbally commit, but seeing UCLA for the first time apparently left a big impression.

It was a fairly typical visit for a UCLA prospect. Parker and his parents had a campus tour Friday, and then the team had a barbecue, with current UCLA sophomore guard Tyler Lamb being his host for the weekend.

Saturday the Parkers got a tour of Los Angeles, and Parker played some pick-up with the current players. The report was that he was very impressive, especially going against center Josh Smith. There was a good group of pros on campus for the pick-up game since, obviously, they're currently unemployed.

Saturday night the parents went out to dinner with Ben Howland while Parker hung out with the players.

The word was that the players really liked Parker, that he's a great kid who really fit in quickly.

Parker's intention at this point is to still make the visit to Memphis for Midnight Madness October, 14th, and to Duke on October 28th, but sources are still indicating that he might not make either of those visits. He already had officially visited Ohio State.
