Bruins Give Goforth Options

The Long Beach (Calif.) Poly athlete and ASU commit, Randall Goforth, talks about the latest offer and where he stands with the Sun Devils...

Long Beach (Calif.) Poly cornerback Randall Goforth (5-10, 160), has been a longtime commit to Arizona State.

But even since he committed, Goforth said he still might take some trips.

Still, Goforth hasn't wavered in his verbal to the Sun Devils, and while he received a new offer from a local Pac-12 school, he said it hasn't done anything to his commitment.

"UCLA offered me last week," said Goforth. "Coach (Rick) Neuheisel offered me."

Goforth and fellow Jackrabbit and Arizona State commit Matthew Rowe both were offered by the Bruins, with teammate Richard Smith, also an Arizona State commit, having an offer from the Bruins since the spring.

"They offered me as a receiver, but they like me as a corner too," said Goforth. "Hopefully they look at me more like an athlete."

Goforth said he'll consider the offer from the Bruins, but that he's still a Sun Devil commit.

"Really, I'm going to take a look at any college that offers," said Goforth. "But nothing has changed with Arizona State."

Goforth said he plans to take a number of official visits, perhaps all five, but won't be taking those any time soon.

"I'm not taking any official visits until after football season," said Goforth.

The two-way threat has three interceptions on the season, including two against nationally-ranked Mission Viejo in a loss to the Diablos.
