Bruins Back In It for Moore?

The Elk Grove (Calif.) offensive lineman, Steven Moore, who was committed to Arizona, said UCLA is back in the mix for his services as he reacts to the firing of Mike Stoops...

Elk Grove (Calif.) offensive lineman Steven Moore committed to Arizona back in June, thinking he could shut things down and focus on his senior year.

But since the firing of Mike Stoops at the beginning of the week, Moore is taking a step back from his commitment to the Wildcats.

"I'm going to open up a little more now with a soft commitment to Arizona," said Moore, who said he was surprised by the decision.

Since the firing, a handful of schools have contacted Moore, and the two newest Pac-12 schools have also joined the fray.

"I've been offered by Colorado and Utah in the past couple of days," said Moore.

While Moore still considers himself a commit to the Wildcats, he said he'll consider all newcomers. He is, however, sure where he wants to play, conference-wise.

"I want to play in the Pac-12," said Moore. "I think I am just kind of going to relax on the whole recruiting thing until the season is over, because my team is my focus."

Moore said that he'll focus on four schools now, with Arizona still very much in the mix.

"Arizona, UCLA, Colorado and Utah, I'm going to consider," said Moore.

And initially, Moore was just planning to visit Arizona, but that's changing.

"I want to take all of my trips now," said Moore.

Moore has helped Elk Grove to an unbeaten record so far in 2011.

Brandon is in his seventh year with Scout.com, currently as the National Recruiting Analyst and West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout Network since 2003.
