Practice Notes, Neuheisel Video

Prince looks good leading the offense, Hundley doesn't look so good, and Neuheisel talks about going up against Vontaze Burfict...

Kevin Prince had a good day throwing the ball, hitting a couple of nice deep balls to Nelson Rosario and Josh Smith in scout periods. In the 7 on 7, he had two throws to Jerry Johnson that were virtually identical- very slightly under thrown down the sideline. In both, Johnson managed to reach over the defensive back (Librado Barocio) and get his hands on the ball. The first one he caught and the second one was broken up coming down, but it was impressive to see that athleticism from Johnson, who is still coming back from the ankle injury.

Brett Hundley actually handled the two minute offense today and looked…rough. Playing with crowd noise, there was one sequence of three plays where he allowed the snap to sail past him, threw the ball and hit Marques Tuiasosopo in the middle of the field, and then scrambled without going through a thorough progression. Overall, not a great day for Hundley, so it's good that Brehaut is continuing to progress back from the leg injury.

Wade Yandall got most of the snaps with the 1's on offense, and looked OK. He still needs to work on his pass protection. It looks like he might get the first look over Alberto Cid to start on Saturday.

Jeff Locke did not participate in practice, though he was there in football pants. Neuheisel expects him to be ready for the game. In his stead, Nick Crissman actually handled the holding duties. Michael Leamy handled the backup punter duties, and didn't look good, so it'll be important that Locke is ready to play.

Ricky Marvray was not in practice, in order to attend to a family matter.

Iuta Tepa, Dietrich Riley, and Chris Ward were all not dressed for practice.

Anthony Jefferson made his return to practice, getting some time with the scout team defense. He definitely looks a step slow at this point, so it might take him a while to get back into game shape.

Anthony Barr no longer has a wrap on his knee, and Sheldon Price is now just wearing a wrap instead of the brace. Richard Brehaut is out of the walking boot, and was walking just a little gingerly.

Tyler Gonzalez went 4 for 4 on field goals, and appears to be adding strength to his leg each week. He cleared a ball from 50 that probably would have been good from 55. Joe Roberts also got a short look and kicked his one attempt from 40 cleanly.

Kip Smith was once again not dressed for practice.
